How to style fashionable coffee tones

Some like it hot, others like it ice cold – let coffee tones be the inspiration for your interiors this season.
Amthal Karim, Head of Design at Furniture And Choice comments:
“Brown tones have been the trending colour for the past year, with Google searches averaging monthly at 74,000, while the term ‘shades of brown’ has also been trending at 8,100 searches. Often described as a ‘warm neutral’, brown’s strength lies in its variety of different tones. Coffee tones like latte, mocha, caramel and espresso highlight the many rich and indulgent flavours and brown colour variations that this much-loved drink inspires.
Coffee tones highlight the rise of Cafecore interiors, where you recreate the look and feel of your favourite coffee bar in the comfort of your own home. For this trend, it’s less about practical elements and more about creating the ambience — coffee tones, soft lighting, and low seating that set the vibe. When it comes to the colour palette, we’re talking about layering every coffee tone from latte beige to espresso brown, and even coffee syrup accents like vanilla and caramel shades.
What’s so great about decorating with coffee tones is their versatility. Whether in the dining room, living room, bedroom or study, coffee tones can be used to relax or invigorate your space. Selecting a key tone as the base is the key to getting started. Latte beige tones are great for lightening up the room, while mocha tones are great if you want to add a dark and moody feel. For those who want to mix and match different tones, the lighter tone can be the base tone, while the darker tone is the accent.
Drinking coffee engages the senses, so your home should feel that way when you decorate with coffee tones. Texture is an important element in achieving this look. Choosing the right textures is like deciding which of life’s simple pleasures you would like to indulge in for the day, like a cup of coffee. From upholstery choices and finishes for your dining set or sofa, it should feel comfy and inviting like coffee’s rich flavour and taste.
Wood is a texture that brings out the natural side of coffee tones. Besides furniture, it can be introduced as part of a feature wall with wooden wall slats. Opting for wooden open shelving also highlights the artisanal quality of this trend and will really emphasise the Cafecore aesthetic. This will allow you to curate your shelves in your living room or dining room, depending on what you like.”
