We speak to 4 online influencers on the year's top trends and styles.
From vibrant tropical prints to minimalist scandi interiors, 2018 was an eclectic year which saw plenty of interior trend inspiration and experimentation. We look back on the year that was with several of our favourite social media influencers weighing in on their top trends.
My favourite trend from 2018 was greenery. We saw so many people bringing the outdoors into their home this year by using plants, tall plant stands, hanging planters, botanical prints and tropical wallpaper.
It was also wonderful to see rose gold everywhere. I renovated my kitchen and living area in 2017 and struggled to find that colour anywhere except for Homesense! Now you can see it in so many high street shops such as Next, Matalan and Dunelm, which is wonderful.
Falling in line with all things Hygge and Lagom, black and white interiors lend a soothing and harmonious effect around the home.

There have been so many great trends this year! Botanical prints on wallpapers and fabrics has been one of my favourites, and I've loved how house plants have taken centre stage in our homes. I also loved how artisan made products such as baskets, macrame weaves and wool blankets have been popular - bringing small businesses with handmade offerings into the spotlight. I have embraced all three in my home this year - these materials bring such depth and raw glamour to a room.

Emma: I loved all the scandi and bohemian vibes. In my eyes, you can’t beat clean, white walls and a minimalist look. Especially when cosied up with natural wood furniture, tasselled cushions and fur throws.
Laura: I have a real affinity for the industrial vibe. With this trend, we saw raw brick, exposed walls showing off all their imperfections and beauty, as well as neutral tones and the use of both metals and wood giving effortless character and texture to interior spaces.

This year my tastes were all about muted metallics, heaps of texture, delicious botanicals and raw materials. Certain trends appealed to me but I prefer to take a few aspects of each and create my own style in line with my aesthetic and taste. Seeing more people become passionate about houseplants and incorporating them into their home styling was a definite favourite of mine!
